Homeschool Classroom Benefits

By Mary Joyce

The homeschool classroom is far from being the traditional classroom. The daily schedule is far from the traditional classroom schedule. At homeschool you can literally put your feet up. Take a break when you need a break. Even eat lunch when you get hungry. Many times there is no chalkboard…. There doesnt have to be one.

No need for a hall or bathroom pass! No bells ringing in the homeschool classroom to signal the end of one class and the beginning of another. And you certainly dont have to sit at a desk all day.

In the homeschool classroom the teacher doesnt have to try to coordinate the minds and the abilities of 30 different kids. The teacher can coordinate the lesson plan to fit the learning ability and the interest of the child. In the homeschool classroom you can focus on a few key subjects and pick up whatever other interests from there.

The use of the school days time is also a benefit to homeschooling. In the home school classroom, there are no administrative duties the teacher must spend working on so the time is spent on education. And with the much better teacher to student ratio that is a part of homeschooling, the learning generally occurs at a quicker yet more thorough pace.

Many benefits of homeschooling to be sure and the growing numbers of those parents opting for the homeschooling option bear these benefits out. Probably the biggest reason sited by parents is the growing dissatisfaction with the public system.

Homeschooling is certainly not without its critics and criticisms. The social aspect and interaction with other (the lack of it) generally top the list of criticisms of homeschooling. There are many support groups and organizations that have formed over the years to help the home school parent address much of the criticism.

Be confident, if you know your children and you know how to learn, youll always be able to teach your children.
